Sony VRD-MC6 DVDirect External DVD Burner Recorder is great little device and one in which I am impressed with. I can link to my Sony camcorder and burn directly to DVD as a backup. The device can be plugged into your TV/VIDEO so that you can `grab' other footage, however, after many hours of attempting (and searching online), I was unable to perform this option, unless another set of cables were purchased and I am still unsure of what cables goes where or whether my video player is just too old. The camcorder to DVD burning is done in real time - 60 minutes of tapes takes an hour to burn. There is a handy LCD screen so that you can check what you are burning, and you can stop at anytime.

The device is small, a good asset and one that works well

It works great! Read the instructions first and it is easy! i just hook up my video recorder to it and it tells you when it is done and picture quality is the same!
