I realize that for the price I should have known better.
I ordered this as a Christmas gift for a friend who needed a new surround sound system - thinking that this would work as the one he previously had hooked up to a DVD player and had great sound.

Upon his finally getting back into the state and opening his gift (New Years Day) we could not find any instructions on how to get sound from the TV to the speakers without actually playing a DVD or CD.

The idea was to be able to enjoy his large screen tv as well as movies - but that turns out not to be the case with this product.
I contacted Naxa directly to inquire about this and was told that this was not a possibility.

The sound is wonderful, if all you plan to do is watch DVDs or play CDs - it's not a 'true' home theater system.
I have to rate it at 3 stars because the sound is good, but they need to make sure to specify that you cannot use it unless you have a CD/DVD in the player.
