Sony VRDMC6 DVDirect DVD Recorder Reviews
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful A great memory saver, March 14, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sony VRDMC6 DVDirect DVD Recorder (Electronics) This was a great memory saver.
I was not thrilled about the price of the DVDirect but when I tried to have a couple of VHS tapes converted to DVD at a local store they wanted $25 a tape. I had around 5 tapes to convert so this was a no brainer. I hooked it up to my VCR and converted them to DVD myself and saved about $25 doing this rather than letting the store do it. Not only that I can now do any VHS converting whenever I want for free.
Great Buy!!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful good but has issues, December 18, 2011 By The Ghost (new york United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sony VRDMC6 DVDirect DVD Recorder (Electronics) i had to get rid of the video cassettes and transcribe everything onto dvd but didn't know how to do it. this machine did it for me. the problem was the old vhs tapes. i kept an old portable tv with built in vhs player just to watch the old video. i hooked the sony up to the tv and followed the instructions and it recorded onto the dvd's as advertised. the only problem was, and i don't know if one can get around it, is that the transcribing onto the dvd is in real time. a six hour vhs takes six hours and about 5-6 dvd changes to record at the highest resolution. so you may have to wait by the machine until you see it stop recording, no, there is no buzzer or bell to let you know the dvd has stopped recording. if you're not around and it stops recording, you have to watch or fast forward the dvd to the end and rewind the vhs to that spot and start recording onto the new disk. as you can surmise, this is a pain, but it recorded and i was able to dump my old vhs tapes.
So far I hate this machine, April 10, 2012 By Bennye Ann Mason "Bennye Ann Mason" (Panama City,FL) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sony VRDMC6 DVDirect DVD Recorder (Electronics) I got this Sony direct machine. The memory card I put in there says it has no photos on it. I ordered the cords that said ppl who ordered this machine ordered theses. They don't work. I wished I had sent it back and took a loss on it. I am usually good about figuring out electronics. I wish someone could tell me what cords to buy so I can record my JVC camera on this, also the cords to order to record my VCR tapes into this machine. My email is skyann50@aol.com or give me your ph# and I can call you.
Thanks Ann
